Join us for a free meditation session! This class will focus on Vipassana meditation. Vipassana can be described as a clear awareness of what is happening as it is happens. This practice can help you remain in the present, detach from your mind, and reduce the suffering that comes from being caught up in your thoughts, and it only takes about ten minutes of formal practice a day.

About the instructor: Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m a long-time practitioner of yoga and more recently, a meditator. I fell in love with meditation and its benefits very quickly, and I want to share that with you. Many people have an idea of what meditation is about, but quickly write it off because they think it’s about silencing the mind or sitting cross-legged for much longer than they would like. I would like to show you that meditation can and does look very different from that. I would love to help you unlock your freedom from within so please join me on May 11th at 10 am.

A restorative yoga sequence typically involves only five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Held for 5 minutes or more, restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends.

Join Allison on Wednesday, 2/27 at 6:30 to beat the hump day slump and take a break from this chilly season. Plan to bring 2 blankets to help in total relaxation.

Heart Opening Yoga and Sound Bath

Celebrate loving yourself this February and join Lindsey Johnston and Celina McKenzie, for a soul-soothing evening of yoga and meditation through sound. Practice will begin with yoga designed to open your heart and prepare the body for meditation. After being guided into a meditative state (laying down in savasana), you will then be left to swim in the sound of the singing bowls.

Celina's Singing Bowls produce a vibration that can be heard as a singular tone. The tone produced by each bowl resonates with a specific chakra or energetic area of your body. These sessions are wonderful for calming both the mind and body and resetting your entire energetic being.

Basic props are provided, but please bring what you need so you can be comfortable laying down. We encourage you bring your own mat, a pillow, and consider bringing a pair of socks and a sweater or blanket to stay cozy!

Trauma Sensitive Yoga

We are pleased to offer a women-only class designed for those who have experiences of trauma. It is our hope in
providing trauma-sensitive yoga that students will explore breathing, stretching, strengthening, and resting as tools to notice what we feel in our mind and body.

Often, those who have suffered trauma endure a long healing process, both mentally and physically. Emphasis in this sensitive yoga series is to create a safe, non-judgmental space to explore and begin to rebuild your body and spirit. By developing a positive relationship with the body and learning calming techniques, students may learn strategies to deal with triggers in a safe manner.

Students in this class are in control of their body at all times. The instructor will offer suggestions and safe variations of all poses. This practice is one of self love and awareness, allowing students to make choices with their bodies.

No experience necessary. $25 for both sessions.

Week of Wellness Challenge

Please join us for a week of wellness to jump start your 2019! We will meet the first two Sunday’s in January. The first Sunday (Jan 6th) will involve a chat with a Holistic Health Coach to discuss overall wellness, nutrition, and goal setting followed by a hot yoga detox class to kick start your clean slate.
During the week we will be staying in touch through a private facebook group to hold each other accountable for the goals we created, additional daily challenges, motivation, and support.

The second Sunday (Jan 13th) we will converge to discuss our experiences and be given additional wellness tools to continue forward with a healthy 2019, followed by another amazing hot yoga class, and end with a blissful guided meditation.

Meet Your Instructors
Lindsey Johnston is the owner of The Fire Within Yoga studio and a Certified Yoga Instructor since 2015. Lindsey’s passion is to share the positive effects yoga has had on her life in hopes of helping others feel and accomplish the same.

Lisa Christensen is a Certified Holistic Health Coach and a Reiki II Certified practitioner. Lisa is passionate about helping others find a true and sustainable level of health without fads, guided by self love.

Allison Kelley is a Reiki II Certified practitioner and Certified Yoga Instructor at The Fire Within. Allison is driven by the positive changes in mind, body and spirit that both yoga and Reiki can achieve.

Together Lindsey, Lisa, and Allison believe in the transformative properties that yoga, meditation, and nutrition can have on the body and soul and cannot wait to guide you into a fantastic 2019!
